Krispy Kreme Coffee Doughnut Drops For Four Days Only

Krispy Kreme is giving coffee lovers a new reason to make a doughnut run, but anybody who wants a taste will have to move fast. The chain is launching its new Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnut for just four days, beginning Saturday, September 26 and ending Tuesday, September 29, which is National Coffee Day. Once that short run is over, the company has not announced an extended release.

The Krispy Kreme coffee doughnut takes one of the brand’s most recognizable treats and gives it a coffee-inspired twist without turning it into an over-the-top specialty doughnut. The new doughnut starts with the light and airy Original Glazed® style fans already know, then adds a rich, creamy coffee-flavored glaze. The company describes the flavor as subtly bold and sweet, essentially bringing the coffee shop pairing together in one bite.

That simplicity could be exactly what makes this drop hit. Instead of piling on fillings, toppings, and multiple flavors, Krispy Kreme is taking the Original Glazed formula and letting coffee do the work. The company’s promotional page positions the doughnut as a coffee-flavored spin on its signature glazed experience, making it an easy pick for people who already like grabbing a doughnut alongside their morning or afternoon cup.

The biggest detail, though, is the clock. Krispy Kreme said the Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnut will only be offered from September 26 through September 29 at participating locations. According to the company, customers in the United States and Canada can get the limited release while supplies last, although availability can vary by shop. Puerto Rico is excluded from the promotion.

And unlike an in-store-only drop, Krispy Kreme says customers will have several ways to secure the coffee-flavored doughnuts. The company’s official promotion terms state that they will be available in participating shops, through drive-thrus, and online for pickup and delivery during the four-day release. Krispy Kreme also opened online preorders from September 23 through September 25 for customers looking to lock in an order before the official launch.

There is also a deal attached to the release for customers ready to show up by the dozen. According to Krispy Kreme, participating U.S. shops will offer a dozen Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnuts for $5 with the purchase of any dozen at regular price from September 26 through September 29. The company says customers can redeem the deal up to two times per guest when ordering in a shop or through the drive-thru. Online customers can redeem it once for pickup or delivery by using promo code COFFEE, while supplies last.

National Coffee Day itself comes with another reason to pull up. Krispy Kreme said customers who visit participating U.S. shops on Tuesday, September 29, can receive a free small or medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase. According to the company’s terms, the offer is limited to one coffee per guest, applies only on September 29, and excludes specialty and frozen beverages.

The new Krispy Kreme coffee doughnut also fits into a recent pattern of short Original Glazed flavor drops. Earlier in September, Krispy Kreme announced an Apple Cider Original Glazed Doughnut for another four-day promotion, and the company later brought back its Original Glazed® Blueberry Flavored Doughnut for a four-day farewell run. Those releases show Krispy Kreme leaning into quick flavor windows that give fans only a few days to decide whether they are pulling up or missing out.

For the coffee edition, that window is especially tight. Krispy Kreme has only announced September 26, September 27, September 28, and September 29 for the release, with availability still subject to participating locations and product supply. Anyone planning to try the Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnut should probably treat this like the limited edition drop it is, because four days can disappear almost as quickly as a hot dozen.
