New Pepperidge Farm Milano Flavor

The espresso martini has already conquered cocktail menus, and now the popular drink is making its way into the cookie aisle. Pepperidge Farm is turning one of the biggest cocktail trends into a sweet treat with its newest Milano flavor. The company announced its limited-edition Milano Espresso Martini cookies on October 13, with a nationwide rollout scheduled for later this month. The new cookies combine espresso flavor, rich chocolate filling, and a hint of vanilla between two of Milano’s signature crispy cookies.

Each bag will retail for approximately $5.89, giving shoppers a way to enjoy the flavors of the popular cocktail without ordering a drink.

The launch comes as espresso martinis continue to dominate cocktail culture. Once considered a throwback drink, the combination of vodka, espresso, and coffee liqueur has experienced a major resurgence, becoming a favorite at restaurants, lounges, and social gatherings.

According to Drinks International, the espresso martini ranked fourth among the world’s bestselling classic cocktails in its 2025 report. The publication also highlighted how the drink’s popularity has helped fuel renewed interest in coffee liqueurs and coffee-inspired beverages.

The momentum has continued in the United States. The Spirits Business reported that NielsenIQ data showed a 10% annual increase in espresso martini dollar sales per outlet during the final quarter of 2025.

That growing demand helps explain why Pepperidge Farm sees an opportunity beyond the bar.

In a company statement reported by the National Confectioners Association, Ama Auwarter, vice president of Pepperidge Farm Cookies & Bakery at Campbell’s Snacks, explained the inspiration behind the holiday release.

“The holidays are all about finding little ways to make everyday moments feel special, and that’s exactly what inspired Milano Espresso Martini. We took a beloved flavor and gave it the distinctive Milano touch, creating an elevated, coffee-forward treat that feels both unexpected and familiar.”

The espresso martini trend is also becoming bigger than cocktails themselves.

According to Food & Wine, coffee-inspired snacks emerged as a growing category at the 2026 Sweets and Snacks Expo. Among the products highlighted was Snak Club’s Espresso Martini Mix, which combines roasted almonds, mini cookies, yogurt chips, chocolate-covered almonds, and espresso beans.

That crossover suggests food companies are recognizing the appeal of espresso martinis as a flavor profile, not just an alcoholic beverage. The combination of bold coffee and sweetness translates naturally into chocolates, desserts, and packaged snacks.

The cocktail itself has a much longer history. According to The Oxford Companion to Spirits & Cocktails, British bartender Dick Bradsell created the original vodka and coffee drink in London during the 1980s. Decades later, its modern popularity has introduced the recipe to another generation of cocktail lovers.

Pepperidge Farm’s latest creation also fits into the company’s larger strategy of introducing unexpected flavors. As People reported, the brand expanded its cookie lineup throughout 2026 with Chessmen Salted Caramel, Cinnamon Sugar, and Brown Butter Pecan, along with several white chocolate fruit varieties.

For the holiday season, the new espresso martini cookies will join returning favorites Milano Slices Peppermint, Chessmen Holiday Nog, and Linzer Raspberry. All four seasonal varieties are expected to be available nationwide for a limited time, according to Pepperidge Farm’s announcement.

The timing gives the brand an opportunity to tap into holiday entertaining, when cookies become popular additions to dessert tables, gift baskets, and gatherings with friends.

And with espresso martinis showing staying power beyond social media, Pepperidge Farm’s latest Milano flavor reflects something bigger happening in food culture. A cocktail that once belonged primarily behind the bar has become recognizable enough to inspire its own snack aisle creation.
