Quavo is looking at the Migos story through a much bigger lens these days, and he wants the group’s place in hip-hop history to be recognized accordingly. During an interview on The Baller Alert Show, the Atlanta rapper opened up about the Migos legacy, making it clear that he believes the trio deserves more credit for what they brought to music and revealing that another Migos album is already close to being finished.

“I mean, I still want my credit. Like you just said, I, I feel like the Migos, us, we always been trying to fight for credit, fight for legacy.”
For Quavo, however, that legacy still belongs to three people. Even as he and Offset move forward together, he stressed that Takeoff remains an inseparable part of the Migos identity.
“It’s 3, not a duo…legacy, Take legacy, Set legacy, and individual too, you know what I’m saying? What all we brought and what all we do bring and what all we will bring to the table, and we’re ready to sell out the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. We’re ready to do the stadium.”
That statement carries extra weight considering everything that happened during Migos’ final years as a trio.
By 2022, the group had fractured publicly. Quavo and Takeoff began releasing music together without Offset, eventually dropping their collaborative album “Only Built for Infinity Links” in October 2022. It fueled questions about whether Migos had reached the end after a run that included “Versace,” “Bad and Boujee,” and the blockbuster “Culture” album series.
Then tragedy changed everything.
Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley on November 1, 2022. He was 28. Houston police said Takeoff was not involved in the argument that preceded the shooting. His death left both his family and the group dealing with a loss much bigger than music.
For months, questions also surrounded Quavo and Offset’s relationship. Then, at the 2023 BET Awards, the two stunned viewers by appearing onstage together for a surprise tribute to Takeoff. With Takeoff’s image behind them, Quavo and Offset performed “Bad and Boujee,” publicly reuniting through the music they built together.
Now that reunion appears to have moved beyond a tribute.
“We’re coming back with a Migo’s album. Y’all see us working; it can’t be working for just for nothing. So get ready for that; we almost ready to turn it in.”
As for when fans could hear it, Quavo stopped short of giving an official release date but offered a major clue.
“The anniversary for the Migos is January.”
After years of separation, grief and questions about whether Migos could ever exist again, Quavo is framing this next chapter around something bigger than simply making another album. He wants the legacy of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff preserved as three, even as the surviving members step back into the studio as two.
And this time, they want their credit with it.
