Mogul Buys $30 Million Puerto Rico Home

The newest Tyler Perry mansion sits in Puerto Rico, and it cost him $30 million.

The 57 year old mogul closed on the 14,475 square foot home, which sits on nearly 1.4 acres inside a gated community. TMZ was first to report the purchase, and PEOPLE has since confirmed it. Built in 2021, the house has five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a private movie theater, an open concept kitchen, a pool and a gym.

The move is not a surprise to anyone who caught Perry on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle in September. When Justin Sylvester asked if he ever plans to chill out, Perry made it plain. “Yep, moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I’m pulling back a whole lot,” he said. The plan is to relocate at the start of 2027 so he can spend more time with his son, Aman.

Pulling back does not mean clocking out, though. Sources told TMZ that Perry plans to open a production office in Puerto Rico and shoot projects there, so Madea may be getting some island scenery. His Atlanta studios are not going anywhere either.

That Atlanta operation is massive in its own right. Tyler Perry Studios sits on a 330 acre lot on a former military base, and Perry owns a home nearby. The new Tyler Perry mansion also joins a private island in the Bahamas and a home in Jackson, Wyoming, which he listed for $39.5 million in June.

Perry is the latest big name to plant roots in Puerto Rico. Logan and Jake Paul already live on the island, and celebrities have been spending more and more time there in recent years. For Perry, the new Tyler Perry mansion looks like a place to slow down with his son without fully stepping away from the business he built.
